Hello

who do I contact if I want to know what an object / item is exactly.

I have something here that most resembles a medieval weapon (2 parts ax with point) but without any mark or identification mark.

I would like to send someone a photo, but who can I best do that to. even easier if it can be done through the forum.

Thanks in advance.

Take three photos and enter the object in the Other section of our catalog. List Unknown as object. That forums a lot easier.

Don't understand anything else about it, but is that a halberd?

I think a halberd too. have inherited the thing from grandpa for a long time, as a 12 year old.

hope a specialist can provide some more explanation.

I think a halberd has a point on 1 side of the handle and it has an ax point (semicircle) on both sides. And a halberd sits on a long staff, doesn't it?

It also looks like one of those weapons that the Vikings used.

Has some celtic feel to it. It's not a halberd but a Labrys.

Celts didn't decorate their mess with a Fleur-de-lys, but Ted is right for the rest.

So not a fighting weapon, it is also a bit too blunt for it, but a ceremonial and/or decorative object.

Without further information about dimensions or material etc. it is difficult to speculate, but I guess the latter (decorative) and given the combination of symbols (double-sided ax plus French lily) I would first look in the French direction in terms of origin. They are crazy about both.

Time for a new pair of glasses. I hadn't noticed the Fleur-de-lys yet.

van Bijl to ax is 16 cm

material ?? wouldn't know, but when I tap it with my finger it sounds
