Collecting/Collectors fair Jaarbeurshallen Utrecht19 messages

So, now first take a rest in the café!

I have just returned from 2 days walking at the fair of the fairs for many collectors, the Collectors Fair in the Jaarbeurshallen in Utrecht. I had made up my mind not to spend more than my budget, but I still smuggled in secret and brought extra money. That is also very easy then! Recognizable?

But as a collector I can look back on 2 very fertile days with beautiful new acquisitions. Many bags full and especially postcards and a few very nice games.

I am going to enjoy my beer and then I will show some acquisitions.

How did you manage the Fair experienced and what are your acquisitions?

I have to say that I am pretty tight in that organization

what kind of games did you buy disney?

Het was goed om op de jaarbeurs twee leden van het catawiki team nl. Simon Breider (Aziatica) en Rob Meershoek (o.a. keramiek en glas) te ontmoeten en uitgebreid te spreken. Zo kom je weer tot nieuwe inzichten en inspiratie. Beiden overigens zeer kundige en sympatieke veilingmeesters. Zij verstaan absoluut hun vak. Dat was tevens te zien aan hun interessante stands. Ondanks 3 dagen op de beurs hebben ze ook deze periode weer twee mooie zorgvuldig samengestelde veilingen neergezet. Grote klasse.

Als keramiek-. glas, toegepaste kunst en antiek verzamelaar heb ik weer veel goede contacten opgedaan en weer enorm veel geleerd door veel te kijken en zaken in de hand te nemen. En ondanks dat ik me had voorgenomen niets te kopen, toch weer 3 interessante vazen gekocht en de nodige naslagwerken. Kennis moet je tenslotte niet alleen koesteren maar ook iedere dag weer zorgvuldig bijhouden.

Ik ga toch maar eens sparen voor de komende najaars beurs.  Voor mensen met inhoudelijke kennis van zaken zijn er nog steeds koopjes te vinden.

Het grappige was dat ik naderhand de beste aankoop deed in....... een kringloop in Utrecht :-)

It was good to meet two members of the catawiki team at the Jaarbeurs, namely Simon Breider (Asiatics) and Rob Meershoek (including ceramics and glass) and to speak extensively. This way you will come to new insights and inspiration. Both are very knowledgeable and sympathetic auctioneers. They absolutely understand their business. This was also reflected in their interesting stands. Despite 3 days at the fair, they have also put up two beautiful carefully composed auctions during this period. Great class.

As ceramic. glass, applied art and antiques collector, I have made many good contacts again and learned a lot by watching a lot and taking matters into my own hands. And despite the fact that I had planned not to buy anything, I still bought 3 interesting vases and the necessary reference books. After all, knowledge should not only be cherished, but also carefully updated every day.

I'm going to save up for the upcoming fall fair. For people with substantive knowledge, there are still bargains to be found.

The funny thing was that afterwards I made the best purchase in....... a thrift store in Utrecht :-)

I lingered at the stands with glass, ceramics and antiques. I was able to do two halls all the way.
But will visit you in the fall if you have some nice art books :-)

Unfortunately, Catawiki has not been at the Collecting Jaarbeurs for a few years (it has a nice big stand and Marco was usually there too) As the manager you also got a discount on the ticket, unfortunately this time had to skip (work) was of course good for the Wallet!

Collect Jaarbeurs used to be fun, nowadays it is actually 'less of the same' every time.

The music is still going strong, but the rest is probably a dying affair.

I was regularly in the book department, but when they raised the prices in a bad way, I just dropped out. You also no longer got a booth, but a few canteen tables, you could put nix on ...

Not so long ago (2005/2006) you could still get nice bargains, but lately I see the same traders in April as in November and also with the same stuff. Occasional sellers, such as a lost Japanese with antiques (!), Are rarely seen. That's not to say that everything used to be better: I once bought four records. One turned out to be crooked at home (not noticed), the other stuck and the 78 rpm record had not survived the train journey .... Bummed!

What could be more fun for a collector than an early morning bargain? And I'm not talking about quarters, but buying something for, say, 100 that is normally offered for 300. I still go for the record department because of the foreign sellers, but the rest (antiques and curios) unfortunately remains much of the same: the same dealers with the same overpriced items that are carried away over and over again. I do not define a beautiful fair as a large hall with high ceilings and many stalls. Then I might as well spend a day at the auction halls in Aalsmeer ... What matters to me is that I like to be surprised by stands with special items that you don't often come across and unfortunately there are hardly any in Utrecht. By the way, read that you also hadn't bought anything and to think that before the hurdles come, you have first choice as a trader .... also says what I think ...

wel vind ik glas in lood en oude blikken merk artikel mooi

en disney en stripfiguren en antieke telefoons en klokken en oude kasten mooi

er waren 4 stripboeken stands en ik heb nog veel liggen dat speelt ook mee

in platen heb ik 0 interesse behalve dat er muziek van af komt die mooi kan zijn

a bargain is nice, but special items are the most important

I have no knowledge of curiosities and have little interest

I do like stained glass and old tin brand articles

and disney and cartoon characters and antique telephones and clocks and old dressers beautiful

there were 4 comic book stands and I still have a lot lying around that also plays a role

I have 0 interest in records except that music comes from that can be beautiful

And it's back! Tomorrow is the last day that you can make your move.

There are fewer stands, but that means you have better hiking trails. It also seems to have been done for the fire regulations.

It is strange that I have to enter it in the fairs agenda every time. Does that have to do with the fight between CataWiki and the Stock Exchange? By the way, has that been renewed? The system knew neither the Jaarbeurs Utrecht location nor the Jaarbeurs or Recordplanet organization (for the record fair). So I added, where it is not possible to link multiple organizers to it.

Saturday already found many beautiful things, but I will also have a look on Sunday. Moreover, it is also a good exercise activity.
