When entering a new item, something must also be filled in at: Country.

Every time I doubt what to enter there.

I enter the country where the puzzle comes from? or the country where the image is located. I suspect the former.

Anyone a suggestion?

Thank you Arco. I hope others read this too. Unfortunately, this is not filled in correctly for many items.

I have broached this item (country) before. When adding puzzles, the country of origin must also be stated. That is clear to me. Many puzzles come from the Netherlands or England. In addition, several puzzles come from Germany and America.

I write in Dutch. This is therefore easy when stating the Netherlands as the country of origin.

This is different with puzzles with the caption:

'Made in England' or

'Made in the U.S.A.' or

'Made in' Western-Germany 'or

'Produit de France'

I tend to translate those inscriptions into Dutch. But it doesn't feel completely logical because everything about the description of the puzzle (!) Is often also in the language of the country of origin.

What could possibly be a good uniform method for this?

Just keep the Dutch names when you are on the .nl domain of Catawiki, otherwise the puzzles from a certain country will not match. English-speaking users see the countries in their own language. The same applies to French and German speakers. Where this is not the case, an administrator can arrange this.

Arco, thanks for the quick response. Can I just write West Germany. Is it America or United States of America. Maybe a bit too much, but for the sake of uniformity it is nice to record it

West Germany no longer exists, so just Germany. And we use United States of America.

On the home page of the Puzzles section, the following sub-areas are listed on the left:

Types

Brands / Manufacturers

Themes

Series

The Countries sub-area cannot be found here and it is not clear to an importer which countries are customary. It would be more practical if Countries were to be added to this list. Is that possible with the available resources? Furthermore, after three characters, there is no automatic recognition in the Country field.

The Countries sub-area cannot be called up on the administration page either. This means that any cleaning or merging is not possible.

Ai! Then they used to make the same mistake there as with Pins, for example. I can't bring anything, so it has to be on the list.

Hey Ted, maybe it'll help if we petition? You already have my signature.
