In a post I saw a comment about the (un) usefulness of a # sign behind a stamp number. This is stated behind it if the stamp coincides with the series, (so say a single issue or a 1-stamp series)

Is of course quite handy because then you know that it is also the 'whole' series. The relevant seal will then appear with type Series as well as type Seal. This happens automatically if the stamp has a collect-a-rom number.

There is also discussion about that number, but in addition to the above, this number also establishes the relationship between stamps and series, but also with FDCs. The number therefore helps to determine the correct order in the catalog and to get the right items together, which is not always possible with other catalog numbers.

The serial images are also automatically generated using this number.
