Hello,
I am just new here so this is my first post.
I have a stamp that I cannot find here (not even in a stamp catalog book). It is Dutch so it should be there. At the top it says “1533-1933”. At the bottom is Willem the silent. The face value is 2.5 cents. The colors are brown and orange and there is a portrait of Willem van Oranje.
I hope you can help me with this.

Are you sure this one is from the Netherlands and not a colony?

In your message you also talk about Willem de Zwijger and Willem van Oranje

I have also searched in different ways and usually I can always find everything. Don't even come across a stamp when I'm looking for willem that's 2.5 cents
That is why the question is whether you are 101% sure that it is the Netherlands itself and not a colony

Greetings
Rudi

William of Nassau = William of Orange = William the Silent = Father of the Netherlands.
Celebrate for the price of one.

he would then belong in this series

1933 Prince Willem I 1533-1584 (NL 50)

Now that I see it this way, the title also seems wrong, but yes, something for Erik Boere

@Koeriertje

You said
"In your message you also talk about Willem de Silent and Willem van Oranje."

You give the impression to me that you think that statements are making a mistake by using two different names.

Not bad, but my response was definitely on topic.
And your exclamation mark key hangs, did you know?

1933 Prince Willem I 1533-1584

Why would this title be wrong?

I wouldn't know, is not from NOZ . Maybe you can send a scan to erik@catawiki.nl It may not be a postage stamp, but a seal or commemorative stamp. Can usually be recognized by the fairly coarse design and larger perforation.

William of Nassau = William of Orange = William the Silent = Father of the Netherlands.
Celebrate for the price of one.

Wlllem I… ..Not four, but five for the price of one?

he would then belong in this series 1933 Prins Willem I 1533-1584 (NL 50)
360381

If this were a stamp of this series, it would also be there.
The Netherlands database is complete as far as head numbers are concerned.

quote Wlllem I… ..Not four, but five for the price of one? \

By the way, it's Wilhelm (not Willem) and he wasn't even from La Maison d'Orange.
He was also a notorious womanizer, most of our Belgian kings too, maybe that's why all those aliases.

1933 Prince Willem I 1533-1584
Why would this title be wrong?

Maybe because it says on the stamp: 1533 - 1933

Or is that too simple?

five for the price of one?
Gentlemen, shame!
I don't really like stamps but… ..
William of Orange (1533 - 1584), unless you strongly believe in reincarnation, is definitely someone completely different from William I (1772-1834).
There are two hundred years in between. Don't let your history teacher hear it.

You are by no means the only one who struggles with it.

There are plans to improve the forum. (ever)
Maybe it will all be a bit simpler in design.
For example, if you want to place an image now, you must have knowledge of html.
That is actually not good of course.

Have a similar stamp from 1933.1.5 cents with coat of arms at the top (around it Je Maintiendray) and text below: 1533-1933, Prins Willem I, The Netherlands, color d.grey.

it may not be a postage stamp, but a closing or commemorative stamp. Can usually be recognized by the fairly coarse design and larger perforation.

It is indeed a fairly large stamp with coarse perforations.

In the cat I can not find stamp booklets or vending booklets in the Netherlands?

Am I looking wrong or are they indeed not listed?

It takes a while to search ... Booklets can be found by selecting "Type", "car booklet" and "ticket booklet".
