hey,

I have a number of 50F Montenez stamps, but it is very unclear to me what kind of 'wine red' it is. There are 3 depicted in the Belgian catalog, but it is not stated which color it is. The following color shades are possible, and some have a big difference in cat value.

dark wine red (edition 1931), brownish wine red (1939), reddish wine red (1941), pink wine red (1941) or carmine wine red.

The 4th photo shows 2 as I found them in a stock book, but I can hardly imagine that the 2nd stamp would be the rare 291D.

Also something bizarre on the penultimate photo, namely the third stamp is one tooth shorter than the rest.

Hopefully someone can help me.

You can best distinguish the color nuances of these stamps by seeing them with your own eyes in reality when they are next to each other, by which I mean that naming colors based on images does not work because they do not correspond 100% to the original colors.

When in doubt, it is best to take the stamps for consultation with an expert on site.
