Since June 2012 I have been selling stamps from my shop on a regular basis and that has always gone perfectly. I have not received an order since February, I am curious if more sellers have also had to deal with this.

is because of those banners from the auction I think in the catalog, buyers are extra distracted by that advertising. I also suffer from it

Last week I had a customer with 297 stamps. € 3.01, and complained about 3.45 shipping costs to France.

I certainly thought I'd bring them personally for little too.

(I have nothing against the French, but a bank transfer usually turns out to be an impossible task. )

He started talking about the fact that he thought that each shipment only cost € 1.15.

How about paying with a check from France, I've had that a few times before, and that it then the rabo costs already 17.50 in advance to be able to collect it, subject to change.

When I hear that, I will not be surprised if you close your shop again for a long time soon (:-).

Inderdaad het betalingsverkeer in europa is nog niet optimaal.

Maar kleine (particulieren) betalen zijn bij de banken over het algemeen gratis.

Ook zijn wij erg verwend in Nederland. Wij hebben veel kritiek op de banken, maar het betalingsverkeer in Nederland is zeer goed doorgevoerd.

Het internationale betalingsverkeer is wel ontstaan ( en opgericht) door een nederlandse commerciele bank.

Via de rekening ( het aanhouden van een rekening) betaalt een  particulieer de kosten en deze zijn in verhouding zeer laagl.

Veel europesche landen staan nog maar in de kinderschoenen met het betalingsverkeer.

Frankrijk, Spanje, Italie kunnen nog veel leren van die ""hollanders"".

(Ik heb niks tegen Fransen, maar een bankoverboeking blijkt meestal een onmogelijke opgave.)

Ik heb ook een fransman gehad die uitsluitend via paypal wilde betalen.

Ik zou de kosten moeten betalen, bij de bestelling van vijf euro.

Ik heb hem driemaal te kennen gegeven dat ik dat niet wilde.

Daarna heb ik de order maar geannuleerd.

Het kost je een "vermogen"" aan tijd .;)

Laat ons maar betalen via de banken. Zeer goede ervaringen met Zweden, Zwitserland,Duitsland en Oostenrijk gehad.

Indeed, the payment system in Europe is not yet optimal.

But small (private) payments are generally free at the banks.

We are also very spoiled in the Netherlands. We have a lot of criticism of the banks, but the payment system in the Netherlands has been implemented very well.

The international payment system was created (and founded) by a Dutch commercial bank.

A private person pays the costs through the account (maintaining an account) and these are relatively low.

Many European countries are still in their infancy with payments.

France, Spain, Italy can still learn a lot from those ""Dutchmen"".

I also had a Frenchman who only wanted to pay via paypal.

I would have to pay the costs, with the order of five euros.

I told him three times that I didn't want that.

Then I just canceled the order.

It will cost you a "power"" of time. ;)

Let us pay through the banks. Had very good experiences with Sweden, Switzerland, Germany and Austria.

A few weeks ago at a collectors fair in the smoke of Utrecht meter after meter of tables and racks with stamps, the providers their age? 75+ and if buyers were already interested, they weren't much younger.

is a sign of the times and with coins, books, comics, etc. it will unfortunately be the same only real top pieces of which the value will only increase. will have a future and they will not be collected but probably only bought as an investment and come in a safe.

Je heb zeker een punt Baronselderie, echter 1 aantekening het fysiek aflopen van beuren en lid zijn van je locale postzegelvereniging is ook echt ''old school'' er zijn wel jonge verzamelaars (wel veeel te weinig) maar die ruilen en verkopen alleen nog via internet, die gaan geen beursjes en postzegelverenigingen afstuimen, dus ja de spoeling word steeds ouder en dunner, er is een zeer beperkte (jongere) aanwas deze is echter volledig digitaal en gaan niet de tratitionele beurs/veiling/postzegelwinkel redden, dit is inderdaad het voorland inzake wat er met strips en boeken gaat gebeuren (en wat er met aanstekers en sigarenbandjes al is gebeurt), inzake munten ben ik wat minder negatief, ik denk dat zij het van allen het langs zullen uitzingen

You certainly have a point Baroncelerie, however 1 note the physical expiration of fairs and being a member of your local stamp association is also really ''old school'' there are young collectors (although far too few) but they only trade and sell through internet, they will not blow off fairs and stamp associations, so yes the flush is getting older and thinner, there is a very limited (younger) growth, however, this is completely digital and will not save the traditional fair / auction / stamp shop, this is indeed the foreland with regard to what will happen with comics and books (and what has already happened with lighters and cigar bands), I am less negative with regard to coins, I think that they will outrun all of them

oh yes, and also what sindbad says, at a fair I tried a few times to find a series that I am still looking for from the Soviet Union, but they did not have this, so rather via CW. and I don't easily stand among the elderly.

Sales are declining?

Fortunately for me, it is not too bad, but I have to do a lot for it, if I notice that I am e.g. The sales of a certain country decrease, which usually means that new providers have come under your prices (usually only 1 cent). All you can do is regularly check your prices, and adjust them if necessary. there are more suppliers and the prices of the articles will continue to fall. It is of course important to provide top service to your customers!

Just dump them on Marktplaats, you have good and richly filled stock books there for 3 euros (and often the 12 Euro album is still in new condition), the market had been dead for decades, now we are really going (for the bite -swallow-road-work) towards waste paper value.

Unfortunately? At least for the sellers. But as a collector I am happy that prices are falling to more normal proportions. However, it should not be so bad that many small sellers will drop out. I collect as a hobby and not as an investment. And a hobby can cost some money. Then I can keep buying. That is, if that jackpot still comes along.
