While sorting through my stamp collection I came across a number of stamps from Labuan and the British protectorate of North Borneo in an old envelope.

I was able to trace a number of stamps in the Catawiki catalogue.

Photos of the stamps can be found at the following links:

I would like to know more about these stamps.

Perhaps it would be good to specify your question a little further. Is it about the value of the stamps? Does it concern the countries that issued the stamps? Does it concern physical properties of the seal itself, such as perforation or watermark? Is it about what is depicted on the stamps?

It is even better to scan the stamps and add them, if they are not already in the catalog. Include as much information as possible that you can find out. The information you are looking for will be supplemented by others over time.

I am sure that you can find all these stamps at Labuan or North Borneo in Catawiki, with accompanying data (entered them, in part, myself). ~~ Only you probably won't find the value unless someone added that data (since May).

If you can't figure it out, ring the bell.

Thank you for your response. I had found most of the stamps in the Catawiki catalogue, but when I wanted to add them to my collection, I discovered that the 1893 series, at least according to the paper on which the stamps are affixed, was not there. Well 1892 and 1894. The series of 1892 intaglio and that of 1894 is litho. The difference is clearly visible and if I'm right my series is intaglio. How can I tell if my series is indeed from 1893 or maybe from 1892.

I will put the other two series in my collection and add them insofar as they are not yet in the catalogue.

Of course it is also interesting to know what value the stamps have.

The intaglio stamps were issued in 1892, but some were reprinted in 1893, with slight differences in color. Now there are also other causes of color differences (light, air, humidity, etc.), and the source of the person who wrote 1893 on the piece of paper may have undergone a small change by now (they call it progressive insight, I thought). If you have identified the printing process, I would not worry whether the year 1892 or 1893 belongs to these stamps.

Lithography is the forerunner of lithography (offset printing). Almost the same technique, only the forces on the printing form are less with offset and the product is a bit nicer (as the Wikipedia teaches us). Stone printing produces a result that looks slightly grainy.

@Tapir, thanks for the correct correction.
