FYI, I saw today that PostNL allows a package up to 3 kg.
So cheaper than a standard package. I think it's quite neat.

NB such a package cannot be insured, in which case it will again be the package up to 10 kg.

For those who have already read it, there was a catch.
The dimensions of the package may only be 34 × 28 × 12 cm.
That's not very nice of Postnl. Sorry for my earlier message

Harry56 Yes and (as I see it) it only applies if you print out the shipping label yourself, so not if you take it to a shipping point... They are still "scammers" haha

Even if you print your own label, the package still has to go to the shipping point

catacrumpie Jilles

I am quite satisfied with Postnl, DHL and DPD. Fortunately, if something occasionally goes wrong, a delay or something like that, they are still easily accessible. That's certainly worth something.

Received the email from Postnl today announcing the "small package" and which clearly states the permitted smaller dimensions. I don't work at Postnl, but it doesn't seem useful to me. I expected the intermediate form of 3 kg with at least 38 x 26.5 x 12, because the first 38 26.5 are dimensions of the professional book packaging. This also prevents incorrect shipments with subsequent fines of 4 to 5 euros. In the explanatory notes it says shoe box, that's right, so you don't get comic books in it, but you do get a number of books or smaller things.

✓ Check whether your package meets the dimensions: max. 34x28x12 cm up to 3 kg. That's about the size of a shoebox.
That is considerably larger than a standard comic book (and much wider than a shoebox).
