When asking questions, it is also useful to give a good description of an item, in this case the Flipje image, what it is made of, dimensions, etc. So it looks like https://www.lastdodo.nl/nl/items /3590383-flipje-uit-tiel-image

If it is, also made of wood, then all the paint has been removed and (if you want to know) in terms of value it is what a Flipje enthusiast would still be willing to pay for it. There are more advertising images of Flipje, I once had the well-known large image made of some kind of plastic, which images I thought were mounted on trucks. I had already sold that statue before I became a member of Catawiki now Lastdodo. Too bad it's not there yet, beautiful object.

The statue is made of copper and is approximately 50cm high!! There is an inscription at the bottom of the base but it is not legible!! According to people, it stood there in the canteen a long time ago and seems to be very old!!

Lastdodo members trying to help you don't know what you've already tried to figure out.
But perhaps this is a source of information:

https://nl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flipje_%26_Streekmuseum

It is difficult to assess how old this apparently copper/bronze object is, as more images of Flipje have been made in recent years. Such a museum with a few enthusiasts/experts should know.

inscription - Me "De Betuwe" Tiel? Appears on most images.

It is a display item, you can put something on it.

Furthermore, it is better to go to Tiel if you think it was in the canteen there. It cannot be checked here. And then ask around there. There is probably an old Tiel page, or a page of the former employees of the Betuwe.

I've never seen a copper version before. It is quite possible that it was a special cast for the head office in Tiel.
A wooden version is unlikely. The statues were made in editions in painted plaster, as display material for shops.
If they are as cool as #3590383 you have to wonder if it is not a replica or heavily restored.

In my opinion this is just the same image as #3590383 .
But here with 'signs of age' and 'not restored'.
Put the photo through a Google lens again.
Already offered several times by several sales sites. And auction houses.
Including by the predecessor of LD... Catawiki. several times even...
So look at Catawiki and the internet and make your own decisions...
Just type in the search bar 'Flipje from Tiel image.
And look at the results.
You can easily get those offers on Catawiki at the time.
And it looks like there were also Flipjes with black shoes and a black board.
Original? Or updated/painted/'restored'?

Or just take a look: Flipje & Streekmuseum on the Plein in Tiel.
If they don't know there...

Various statues have been sold at the Catawiki auctions in recent years, with explanations that some were originally made of plaster (as Bookstore already indicated) and from the 1950s onwards of a type of plastic. I once had the middle one, with an iron mounting plate underneath. I once saw a complete one with the movable iron "bar" with which Flipje was attached to the truck.

https://www.catawiki.com/nl/l/2150557-3-betuwe-s-flipje-van-tiel-beeld-21e-eeuw

However, I have not yet come across a copper/bronze version. If it is true that it stood in the canteen of the Betuwe, it may be unique, but that is up to experts to determine. But isn't something like that made from an alloy? Ergo something made of bronze?

But I hope we hear something from Doffer4000, I'm curious myself

Don't you feel that something is wrong on all sides?
Read the history of Flipje and the regional museum.
If it were in the canteen and if it is made of copper/bronze or some kind of alloy, why is the statue not in the museum?
Just one of dozens of statues made. And this statue could have stood anywhere, including in the canteen...

Many posts from newly registered members amount to announcing that they have something special for sale and do not bother to enter something in the catalog or offer it for sale through a shop. Because I couldn't say that with certainty here, I have always referred to sources / museums that know something like this. Everyone on the forum can read that, precisely to prevent anyone from thinking that Gold is on offer for little. And your opinion and the reactions of the other loyal members also go in the direction of "careful" but first you have to find out what something means. And that's fine. By the way: if this statue is unique, then it is up to experts from a museum or something to judge that.

In the unlikely event that Doffer4000 no longer makes itself heard, I will doubt the intention.

Doffer4000 if you had no intention of offering your item, your request for information is still valid. So why would you want to leave? In any case, I hope the tips were useful to you. I'd say ask anyway.
