I have a KM #867 1951 GB 1 farthing coin minted on a 6 pence planchet. I can find very little info on this coin. Any insight would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance. Jeff

hello jtbbud , I think rather than a planchet error, it is more likely that somebody coated this coin with a thin layer of another metal like silver. Sixpence planchets are slightly smaller than farthing planchets.

This is all I have been able to find on this coin. PCGS has verified that it is a real mint error coin.

jtbbud Well that only confirms that this error type exists. The only way to truly figure out if your example is the same thing is for you to send your coin to PCGS yourself to get it graded and see what they say. If it comes back as a genuine error, it'll probably be worth quite a bit. Good luck! :)
